Coyote, break up letter and dad's

Well I kicked week 8 of training off with a bang! Not really, it was humid, felt good, but kind of slow 5 miles downtown! On my way back I passed this as I was running to my end point..  Ummmmm wtf!!!! Let me tell ya, if I see that, I will increase my speed play for sure! Scary stuff! I'm already scared people are going to attack me early in the morning, now this!!  After my scare and run, I had a sit down with my shoes..  Dear Brooks transcend, We have had many great and memorable moments and miles together! We met 2 days before Valentine's day and it was love at first sight. But after many miles for Gasparilla Distance Amber Challenge, Iron Girl Half Marathon and 2 months of marathon training, it is time for us to go our seperate ways. I am going to have to put you in the closet and break out my others for rotation until after my vacation when I am introduced to someone else. To say it's me and not you, would be a lie, but I'm not getting the support I deserve and nee...

Journey to 26.2, Week 7 ending

Week 7 is now done. I got up this morning, which normally Saturday's are my rest day and went to the gym. I got 6 miles in on the bike, 30 minutes and then a quick 5 minutes with weights. Not much, but it is something, I am still doing something. Believe me, I wanted to use today as a second rest day, but I know I cant, I have to keep going. Next week is going to be a little different too because I am starting my vacation and going to see family in another state, I am super excited about that one for sure!! Now I am taking a couple of minutes before I have to start getting ready for a long day at work. Its the day before Father's Day, which of course will be busy...but I also just had 2 people call off, so I am going to be in overdrive mode today and I just might enjoy a tall glass of wine when I get home tonight. My emotions have been in check this week, normally I am not all that great this week because I don't have my dad to celebrate with. I mean he would have bee...

Friday the 13th and a much needed Rest Day

Well today did not go as planned or per plan. I woke up with no energy and absolutely no desire to go to the gym or put on my running shoes, I just wanted to sleep in and lay around for as long as I could until work. I figured I would work out after work rather than before. Just when I was starting to feel guilty about that and I was forcing myself, the sky opened up and buckets of rain poured down. I took it as a sign and went back to bed for a bit. I mean everything in me did not want to work out, as much as I tried to convince myself, I just could not do it. I went to work and even went to Starbucks to get another cup or coffee and I was craving a diet Dr. Pepper, I think I want sodium. Just as I was leaving work, the sky opened yet again, it did it all day long, welcome to summer in Florida. I was feeling just blah and tired and all I wanted to do was curl up on the couch in my sweats and just lay down all night. James picked up Pei Wei, which I was very grateful for an...

Isn't it funny how it just becomes the norm...

Isn't it funny how you just adjust to some things? Like after awhile it just becomes the norm and everything before that was just crazy talk. That's how I felt today with my running. As per the plan, I am suppose to run 30-45 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I have searched and looked at other running plans and they are running 5-8 miles on those days and then a long run on the weekend, which of course I will be doing. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I will run, but I am going to increase my mileage, safely, so I can burn some more calories and fat, build my muscle and help my endurance. Will every week, I will earn more than that, but there will be weeks, I will run 4 rather than 3 days, like last week. I like the 4 days a week and then two XT days, I feel alive more with that. I guess I say that now and then we will see when I start hitting higher long runs. Okay so back to this morning, I wanted to run longer and push myself so I planned for 5 miles. And after slee...

I Got This, Even When I feel Like I Don't

I am not going to have a pity party! I'm not giving up but that scale and I are not good! I weighed in today and up a tiny bit again!! I busted butt last week, I ran more and made even better choices! I had one cheat day and counted every point! And changed my weigh in day... I am feeling defeated but instead of wallowing and giving up, I'm writing this from the gym while on the bike. I am going to make this week count even more! This is my journey with just some hills... Just like with running, I'm getting get up over them and kick ass!!!  And this motivation helps too  And on training, I'm doing 40 minutes on the bike with hills, there we go!!! Day 45

Journey to 26.2 Day 45: Humid Early Run with Foot Pain

5:45 comes super quick when you don't sleep all that great. I was tossing and turning a lot last night and just couldn't turn off my mind, but the alarm still went off. The beautiful part though, before I would hit snooze or reset the alarm or make an excuse not to get up, but today I did not. I shuffled out of the bed and into my running clothes and made it outside. Geez was it humid! I mean the moment I stepped outside, I was blasted with the humidity. I made it through my typical 3 miles, drenched and dripping in sweat. I got ready quickly for work and had some major foot pain. I tried out some new inserts for my shoes yesterday, they are specifically for plantar fasciitis. I wore them in my shoes yesterday but when I got home, I was in a lot of pain, so I rolled, stretched and iced my foot at night. On my run, it didn't hurt all that bad, but I felt the pain after. I rolled and wore the inserts in my shoes today. For a good couple of hours, it really hurt, I mean re...

Journey to 26.2 Day 44, Marathon Monday and Big Lots

Image
Happy Marathon Monday!! Well, not really but instead of motivation Monday we can switch it to see, with a motivational quote speaking towards a marathon! Hey it keeps me going 😃 Plus today was kind of uneventful. I woke up late because last night I was so exhausted I set my alarm for 7:00pm instead of am, thank goodness I live close and can get ready super quick. After work, I wanted to crash but today was a walk or XT day so I hit the street for a 2.35 mile walk, equally 45 minutes! Even at 6:00 at night it is super hot and humid!!  Some days training really scares me, with how I am fitting in all the time and energy! Does that mean I'm not working hard enough? Am I not running harder or further? I want to be the very best! Believe me days I'm just down right exhausted, but then I think is that normal? Should I be even more tired? Cause right now everything is going really great! I always overthink haha. Anyway since this post doesn't have much thought, I figured I would ...
