December Run Streak Day 24, Merry Christmas Eve

Image
First off I can not believe it is Christmas Eve AND that I have ran at least 1 mile every day since December 1st. If anyone has worked retail, you know how crazy this time of year is and especially when your in management. You are not only dealing with the mean, rude, demanding customers, BUT also a whole staff that most of the time is 3x what you normally have in your store. At my job we also deal with engraving our product, outside product, online orders, home office orders, etc. Plus paperwork, schedules and just squeezing in enough time to just breath. I hardly ever got to sit down and when I did it was to eat something really fast or just to sit for 5 minutes to regain my thoughts. Despite how crazy it is I love my job and this time of year. It makes the days go faster, it is fun and this year I was blessed with a lot of customers who were just so nice and really enjoyed the gifts we provided them with. I cried with a lot of customers as the holiday season was tough on them becaus...

December Run Streak Challenge Day 23 and Early Weekly Weigh In

First off I can not wait until tomorrow at 4pm when I am off from work and finally, FINALLY my life can go back to normal. Seriously these last 9 days have just been so crazy, I am exhausted mentally and physically and emotionally. I want to go back to my normal, boring life lol. So again this post will be quite quick because I just want to crawl into bed and let it be morning. I got up this pretty early so I could get some stuff done before work. First of course I got my run in, 1.33 miles to be exact, down the block and back and it felt nice and easy. After I finished wrapping all of James's gifts and his families. I even listened to Christmas music and some coffee. And got a load of laundry done too. I was on a roll this morning. Then I went to Weight Watchers and weighed in. Down 1.4!!! Woohoo something good is on my groove because for the last 4 weeks, I have lost at least a pound a week, not a whole lot, but makes a huge difference and I think I am finally over that pla...

December Run Streak Challenge Day 22

This is going to be short and sweet. Not the greatest post, but I am exhausted and probably going to sleep in less than an hour. Tried going to bed early last night, my store called me at 1:00 and woke me up, had a really hard time going back to bed. Got up at 7:00, feeling pretty good, got 2 miles in, which I was super happy about. Took my time getting ready, relaxed a bit and made my lunch. Got a call my store was a disaster, engraving everywhere and just in chaos from the night before. Dropped everything and got to work and had an emotional and mental breakdown. Worked 10 hours and was out of it all day because of the outcome of the morning. After work got take out from Chiptole, got the best Burrito Bowl ever!! And the chips were amazing, I don't care about the points or I have to weigh in tomorrow, I just wanted it so bad. I am now on the couch and about to pass out. Tomorrow is a new day!! Day 22 Miles: 2 miles Total: 49.54 miles

December Run Streak Challenge Day 21

And my life has become hectic. I knew this morning when I got up it was going to be off the chain and well it disappoint for sure. From the moment I got up, my whole day has revolved around work. I was suppose to go in at 11, I went in at 10, tried to sleep in a bit but between people calling off, big messes going on at work, etc, I did not get to sleep and my run was crap. I only got a mile in, which I know is okay and what I figured would happen these next few days, but man, I was bummed. My brain was so consumed with work and thoughts, I couldn't shake it enough to clear my thoughts and concentrate on the run. I got 1 mile in and then went right into work zone. I was able to make my lunch, a sad on at that, a tomato sandwich and some Special K crisps. Oh and a BIG gingerbread cookie I snacked on throughout the day brought by one of my awesome base crew girls. It was delicious and the perfect sugar rush I needed for the day. I got out late of course, and crashed for a good 30 m...

December Run Streak Challenge Day 20 and other random thoughts

Another morning I am able to get a post up before the evening. I am so glad that I did yesterday because I got home from work around 8:15 and I was beat. I mean I came home kicked off my shoes and laid on the couch, well more like flopped. We were busy, BUT every day is BUSY, I was just burnt out. Around 4:00 yesterday I started to feel super sluggish, I needed a mid afternoon pick me up. I got a cup of coffee and spotted the most beautiful little treat. Starbucks has a two pack Dark Chocolate Peppermint Bark, 1 piece is only 2pp! It was heavenly. People were probably laughing at me because I was savoring every last little piece of that heavenly bark. I needed it! I needed some sugar, some chocolate and some coffee. I saved the other piece for dessert. I know I shouldn't get one every day but I know it is there and it is taunting me. If I eat it in moderation I am good! Anyway, I got home and passed out. I had full plans of making dinner, but well I was exhausted. And even though...

December Run Streak Challenge Day 19

My foot is literally out the door but I took 5 minutes to just sit down and get my run streak post in before I have to head to work. All this week I am blessed with working the 11-7 shift, well more like 1030-830 or something like that, but either way it makes it a tad bit easier for me to run. I got up at 8:15, woke up a bit, put on my running clothes and headed down the street. I was having wardrobe malfunctions this morning, my pants kept trying to fall down in the back. As much as that excites me, it was chilly and I really didn't want to give those driving by a big old show of my booty. I managed to get them to stay and got 2 miles in before I had to head back inside and get ready for work. My right calve has been feeling very tight. I think because I am on my feet all day long and in flats, my legs are never resting. So I got my run in this morning, showered, dressed, sat down with some Chobani and granola and my cup of coffee and had some ME time. Now onto the craziness ...

December Run Streak Challenge Day 18

ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!! Another late post on my run streak, of course after a long day. I did get 1.63 miles in this morning before work. I woke up from a very strange, yet intriguing dream and couldn't wait to get my run on. But while running my dream was still playing over and over in my head. My body felt a bit stiff and tired this morning also. Ever have those moments where you feel like your moving really fast but you aren't?? Yup that was me today. I ran just around our block, which turned out to be a nice mileage, pace and time. I felt content and good after the run and even better, it gave me time to unwind before I headed into work. I even sat down and paid some bills, ate my breakfast not standing up and made my whole lunch for work. I think I will stick with this routine for the next couple of days until after Christmas. It wasn't over tiring, I got everything I needed to get done and made it to work early. So Day 18 is over. I am still so happy I h...
